Description of Great Elephant March

The great elephant march begins on the grounds of Trichur or Tiru – Shiva-Perur and ends at Thiruvananthapuram is a three day long festival. The march begins with the magnificent array of elegantly bedecked gorgeously decorated 101 elephants standing tall with their mahouts. You can feed the elephants while the traditional Melam a kind of Kerala orchestra play the traditional pieces. It is time to be a part of this fun filled festival and enjoy sumptuous traditional Keralian lunch. After lunch visitors can enjoy an exciting elephant ride at Thekkinkadu grounds.
