Paravur Kayal is comparatively a small lake as compare to the other counterparts in Kerala. It is a lake in the Paravur district of Kerala. Sprawling across the area of 6.62 sq km the lake is an end point of Ithikkara River and part of the system of lakes and canals that make the network of Kerala backwaters. It has been connected to Edava Kayal and Ashtamudi Kayal as part of the Trivandrum - Shoranur canal system since the late 19th century. The Paravur Lake and the Arabian Sea joins at the south Paravur Pozhikkara. A backwater cruise through this lake is an interesting and memorable tour for the visitors. It is 20 km from Kollam and 15 km from Varkala Beach.

By Air:-The nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram International which is about 65 km from Paravur Kayal Lake.
By Road:- The nearest rail head is Paravoor which is 3.5 km while Kollam railhead is 20 km from here.
