Kottayam Waterfalls

Kesari Waterfalls:- The magnificent Kesari waterfalls, also known as Valanjamkanam falls lies between Kuttikanam and Murinjapuzha on the Kottayam-Kumaly route. Valanjamkanam is a 3 hr journey from Kottayam from bus to Kumaly and then trek towards Kuttikanan that offers an additional thrill and closeness to the nature. The best season to visit Kesari water falls is from September to March. The nearest rail head is at Kottayam railway station. Paradisa Plantation retreat and Thrisangu Haven provide good accommodation facilities to the visitors. The waterfall is very calm surrounded by mountains and is an ideal place for trekking and nature lovers.

Maramala Waterfall :- Maramala waterfalls situated in the Kottayam district of Kerala lies at a distance of 7 km from Teekoy rubber estate and very few km from Eerattupetta. To reach the amazing Maramala waterfall one has to trek through the estate over the rocky path. The water falls from the height of about 60 ft and then joins the bTeekoy river after flowing for about 200 m. Due to the high speed of gushing river a deep pool of about 12m depth is formed between the rocks. It is a beautiful sight to see how the water falls through the hills.
