Palakkad (Palghat) Waterfalls

Dhoni Waterfall:- Dhoni waterfall is situated in the Dhoni hills in Palakkad district of Kerala. On reaching the base of the Dhoni hills one has to reach the top by trekking around 3 hours. Dhoni waterfalls are about 15 km from Palakkad that offers a captivating visual retreat for its visitors. During the monsoon the water fall is flooded with water and is an ideal time to visit Dhoni waterfalls. The water from here flow to reach the Malamphuza Dam. Near the mountain lies a temple and according to the popular belief the temple was constructed by goddess for Lord shiva.

Meenvallam Waterfall: A Meenvallam waterfall is situated around 8km from Thuppanad junction on the Palakkad- Manarkkad route. The Meenvallam waterfall is a combination of enchanting beauty and scenic splendor. The water falls from nearly 20 to 25 feet and the depth is around 15-20 feet. The waterfall has 10 steps and the 8 lies in dense forests. All these steps with in the forests are not accessible. One can enjoy the last 2 steps of this waterfall which is a scenically beautiful and also among the major attractions. To reach this amazingly beautiful waterfall one has to hire a jeep from Koomankund junction and then trek the distance of 1.5 km. On trekking they also have to cross the river Thuppanad. The beauty of the waterfall is untouched and unspoiled as it is less explored and reached by less number of tourists.
