Tourist attractions of Munnar

Eravikulam National Park:- Eravikulam National Park situated at a distance of 15 km from hill station of Munnar. Spreading across the area of 97 Sq. Km the sanctuary is a home to exotic flora and fauna and rare species of endangered species. The park looks at its best when covered with Neelakurinji flowers. It seems like a blue carpet spread across the valley. Declared as a National Park in 1978 the national park is a great place for adventure lovers who can take part in activities such as trekking, wildlife safaris and mountain biking.

Devikulam:-If you are looking for peace and tranquility then Devikulam is the perfect place for you situated at distance of 7 km from Munnar. Devikulam is comparatively a smaller hill station of Kerala situated at the height of 1,800 m above the sea level. It is blessed with Devi Lake which is blessed with natural mineral water. The Sita Devi Lake situated here is an ideal picnic spot that offer trout fishing facilities as well to its visitors.

Attukal:- Situated between Munnar and Pallivasal , Attukal is an ideal place for trekking. The place is blessed with long trekking trails and is renowned for its panoramic waterfalls and rolling hills.

Echo Point:- As the name suggests, the place has a natural echo phenomenon. Situated at a distance of 15 km from Munnar Echo point is situated on the way to top station.

Chithirapuram:- This small hill station situated at a distance of 10 km from Munnar Chithirapuram exudes an old-world charm of colonial past. It is a home to Pallivasal Hydel Power Project.

Nyayamakad:- Situated at a distance of 10 km from Munnar near Rajamala, Nyayamakad is an excellent picnic and trekking point. Nyayamakad is famous for its cascading scintillating waterfalls falling down from the height of 1,600 m above the sea level.

Pothamedu:- Located at a distance of 6 km from the town, Pothamedu is a major plantation hub of Munnar. Gardens of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations create a mesmerizing view to the visitors. It is an ideal sport for trekking and hiking amidst lush mountains and rolling hills that offer breathtaking visuals to the tourists.

Marayoor:- Situated at a distance of 40 km from Munnar, Marayoor has many firsts to its credit. It is the only place in the state which is blessed with natural growth of sandalwood trees. There is also a sandalwood factory of the Forest Department of Kerala and a children’s park extending across one hectare of land under the canopy of a single Banyan tree which is a major attraction among the visitors.
