The capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram also known as Trivandrunm is located on the southwestern tip of India. Bounded by the Arabian Sea on the West and Tamil Nadu on the East Trivandrum is known for its rolling low coastal hills, internationally renowned beaches , historic monuments, backwater stretches , amazing picnic spots and rich cultural heritage that makes it distinct from other districts and towns of Kerala. Padmanabha Swamy Temple:-
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Padmanabha Swamy Temple is one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Trivandrum visited by large number of devotees. The temple architecture is a fine specimen of the fusion of Kerala and Dravidian architecture styles. It is also known for its murals, paintings and stone carvings. It is one among the 108 Lord Vishnu Temples of India where the presiding deity reclining on Anantha the holy serpent. Only Hindus are allowed in this temple. Men should wear Dhoti and women should wear Sari to enter this temple.

Napier Museum:-Napier Museum is the landmark of the city. It is the replica of Indo-Saracen architecture with gothic style roofs and minarets, boasting a natural air conditioning system. The museum is a store house of various historic artifacts, exquisite bronze articles, coins, ornaments of ancient period; temple chariot etc. is among the major attractions of Trivandrum.

Kuthiramalika Palace Museum:- The museum was built over 200 years ago by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Balarama Varma, the king of Travancore. The museum is a rare specimen of workmanship of traditional Travancore style architecture that displays rare paintings, priceless collection of the royal family, exquisite woodcarvings etc. Its close vicinity to Sree Padmanabha Swamy makes it one of the major tourist attractions of the town.

Ponmudi Trivandrum:- Situated above 915m above sea level, Ponmudi is a stunning hill resort blessed with nature's bounty. The hill station is blesses with myriads of exotic mountain flowers, trekking trails, pleasant climatic conditions, narrow pathways that makes it no less than a fairyland and is a famous picnic jaunt of Trivandrum..

Sree Chithra Art Gallery:- (Open 1000 - 1700 hrs. Closed on Mondays & Wednesday forenoons) Located near the Napier Museum, this art gallery displays select paintings of Raja Ravi Varma, Svetlova and Nicholas Roerich and exquisite works from the Rajput, Mughal and Tanjore schools of art in India. The collection also includes paintings from China, Japan, Tibet and Bali.

The Zoological Park:- the zoological park is one of the first zoos in India and is among the best designed , well planned botanical gardens of Asia. The zoo opens from Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 5 pm.

Shankhumugham Beach:-Situated just 8 km from the city, the Shankumugham Beach is one of the favorite haunt for the sunset watchers. The beach offers its visitors various recreational activities for the visitors. The Matsya Kanyaka, a gigantic 35 m long sculpture and a starfish shaped restaurant are the major attractions among the visitors. Chacha Nehru Traffic Training Park provides an opportunity to the children to learn the traffic rules is a major attraction among the children.

Veli Tourist Village:- It is a famous picnic spot of Thiruvananthapuram where Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea. It offer its visitors boating facilities to enjoy the serenity and explore the charm of lagoon in a leisurely manner.
